Biography
A Life Devoted
to the Oud
Born in Kana, Galilee, Suheil Sedran began studying the oud in the city of Nazareth and through private instruction from an early age. He later graduated with a degree in music, continuing to develop his musical and educational foundation.
After several years of teaching and performing, Suheil toured internationally with fellow musicians, performing across numerous countries and drawing inspiration from a wide range of musical traditions.
Today, Suheil is based in Atlanta, GA, where he has served as the Master Oud Instructor at Alif Institute for more than 30 years, offers private oud lessons, and performs throughout Metro Atlanta and across the United States at venues and events including the Rialto Center for the Arts at Georgia State University, Emory University, the Atlanta Arab Festival, and numerous cultural festivals and celebrations.
In addition to performing and teaching, Suheil specializes in the restoration of string instruments, preserving the craftsmanship and musical traditions that have been passed down through generations.
